Our Apt

During the past 4 years, Tim and I have lived in the same lovely apt. It has known many dinner parties and gatherings. We are fortunate to live in the same neighborhood as many of our friends and our apartment has become a rally point of sorts for summertime barbeques, holiday celebrations, orphan Thanksgivings and Wii matches. Those of you who have visited it can remember that the entire building slopes toward the center- for our apt that means it slopes left and we will forever be bumping into the wall in our hallway because we lose perception. The small bathroom is the most inconvenient sound portal into our neighbors apt. Our mailman absolutely refuses to pick up outgoing mail. And our front stoop serves as a bus stop for a primary school. Every weekday at 7:30 AM and 2:30 PM mothers, fathers, brothers, and sisters gather directly under our window and gossip in Polish.
Our building holds some very interesting people. We have two brothers in the back of our building that own their own business making organic ice cream , a group of boys in the basement that have a total of 5 bands between them- one of which is a Klezmer band, an Israeli classical guitarist who lives with a girl that programs Wii games and iPhone apps, and one of the heirs to the B&J Fabric store featured on Bravo's new series with Isaac Mizrahi called The Fashion Show
Ahh, Greenpoint!
